Call for Abstracts
NOTE: Before you submit an abstract through the website kindly
1. Register for the conference first and make payment.
2. A reference number will be generated after successful payment
3. Use that reference number to then submit your abstract.

The organizing committee of the upcoming 4th Conference of the African Plant Breeders Association (APBA) (6th – 8th Oct. 2025, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe) would like to invite you to submit abstracts for both oral and poster presentations. The theme of the conference is “Winning the race against food insecurity, malnutrition and climate change through genetic innovation”. Conference participation will be fully in-person. Oral presentations will be assigned 20-minute slots including Q & A. Posters will be organized by sub-themes and poster prizes will be awarded during the event.
Abstract submission guidelines:
- Only registered participants will be able to submit abstracts. Please see the APBA website for registration deadlines.
- A registered participant can submit more than one abstract. However, only one abstract per registrant will be considered for oral presentation. Any additional submitted abstracts can be considered for poster presentation.
- Abstracts must be submitted via the APBA website that is accessible here: Submit Abstract
- All abstracts should be submitted in English and must report new or recent recent substantive scientific results in the field of crop improvement
- Each abstract should be submitted to the most relevant sub-theme.
- All abstracts will be screened by the APBA Science and Publications committee for scientific content, quality, novelty and the fit with the relevant conference sub-themes.
- Abstracts must be prepared strictly according to the template attached here
