Dean Muungani, a Zimbabwean professional, currently holds the role of Product Manager for Grain Crops at IITA. His impressive educational background includes holding Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Plant Breeding & Seed Systems, obtained from the University of Zimbabwe and University of Zambia in 2013 and 2010, respectively.

Dean’s career journey began in 2003 as a Maize Breeder (Research Officer) at the Crop Breeding Institute, part of the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture & Rural Resettlement. In 2007, he transitioned to Agriseeds (Pvt) Ltd., a Zimbabwean private seed company, where he played a pivotal role in establishing a Research Department.

His professional growth continued as he joined Seed Co in 2014, initially as a Senior Maize Breeder, and swiftly rose to assume leadership roles, becoming the Head of Stapleford Research Centre in 2015 and the Head of Product Development in 2016. Dean Muungani’s career trajectory reflects his expertise and leadership in the field of crop breeding and seed systems, making him a valuable asset to organizations in the agricultural sector.
